What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?
My passion for the sector stems from my view of children. Children are capable, competent citizens within our community who have a right to a rich and fulfilled childhood. It is our responsibility as not only educators - but adults, to advocate for children to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child.  I have no doubt Early childhood education is absolutely fundamental to the holistic wellbeing of children and their families. I feel so privileged to able to support families through the first five years of their child’s life!

What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?

The early years of a child’s life are busy. I believe learning is happening all the time and is interwoven through all developmental domains. These include physical, social/emotional, cognitive and communication. Therefore, the goal is to make this ongoing learning experience safe, positive, and fun, nurturing for children as I strive to guide them into the next stage of development with confidence in themselves and an excitement for continued learning. Children need the assurance of being loved and cared for while they are enjoying an educational environment. Teaching children is my passion. Security and trust are very important components as well, of my relationship with each child. I strive for a developmentally appropriate, child-centred atmosphere where children can master new challenges through activities and topics that are meaningful to them, thus building their self-esteem as they develop and learn. Children should be given choices, responsibilities, and opportunities to initiate their own learning. I believe observations and assessments are excellent tools to use when planning curriculum. Observations not only aide in creating the curriculum but also give insight into the development, knowledge, and skill levels of each individual child.

What makes your centre different from others?

Umina Milestones is one of a kind, in my opinion Milestones Umina is not only a warming but a nurturing center.
Milestones Umina educators are confident and always open to change, ideas and new concepts. The Staff strive to continue their journey by working collaboratively with the children, colleagues, and families.

What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?

I am a passionate Early Childhood Educator as I hold an understanding towards the valuable role in which the early years vitally holds for children and their lifelong journeys. I embrace an emphasis on developing and building upon relationships and connections with families and our local community, as together we support the development of our future leaders by providing our children with opportunities to blossom into individual, capable and confident beings. I am passionate about striving towards inspiring, igniting and sparking a love of learning and the minds of the little ones in my care, as together we learn through investigation, exploration, research and play.

As an Educational Leader I am extremely dedicated to reflecting, researching, building upon and teaching pedagogical understandings, knowledge and practices to our team of dedicated educators, in order to deliver and implement a high-quality educational program which reflects the National Quality Standard and is guiding by the Early Years Learning framework. We as educators, scaffold the foundation of children’s lifelong love of learning. What an incredibly heart-warming, joyful and rewarding role we play.
